"Jewish-Christian-Dialogue

in Music"

is a project that resulted from the collaboration of the mathematician and jazz musician Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe with the Israeli singers Tal Koch and Aviv Weinberg in playing traditional liturgical chants and modern psalm settings by contemporary Jewish composers together, which cover the broad spectrum of synagogue music. In Guendel-vom Hofe´s own music, he deals since many years with re-interpreting music based on his own spiritual roots, the worship hymns and chorales of Protestant churches.

The peculiarity of this project is the use of the language of jazz, always with the aim of preserving the spiritual character of the songs and at the same time using jazz elements to make the seemingly familiar for the sound space to open up new listening experiences, crossing cultural and religious borders.
